On Friday, July 14th, the Vermont Aquatic Invasive Species work group will host a work day to pull water chestnut from the Black Creek wildlife management area.
The invasive plant was found in the area last summer, raising concern for the long-term health of the area. For more information, please contact elizabeth.spinney@vermont.
Details:
• We’ll be pulling water chestnut out of Black Creek Marsh
• Bring your own boat, paddles, PFD, and collection bucket, basket or bag
• Dress appropriately for a day outside on the water, rain or shine!
Why:
• Water chestnut is an invasive aquatic plant that impacts the health of lakes and ponds, and impacts recreation
• Great way to spend an afternoon, and snacks will be provided afterwards in the park!
